Pride in London Show 2015
2015 saw some of London’s oldest and most beloved gay venues close permanently and some still are dangerously poised for similar regrettable fates. This not only affects the city’s heritage and devotion to queer culture but the future of where our colourful community is headed.
We partnered with InTransit Festival for the first time and will be installing artworks in several different locations in Earls Court – the home of the capital’s first established gay scene with its history stemming decades back before Soho was “Soho” and Vauxhall was full of bouncing bears. The queer social space is one that is consistently under threat and throughout the years has constantly relocated and evolved. This show aims to highlight communities, memories and opinions lost and found, and – in doing so – everything that is yet to come.
